BANDUNG (AFP) .- Delegation of Indonesia managed to carve out achievements in the international arena Asia Pacific ICT Award 2011. Indonesian team won four awards and three of them won by the team from Bandung in West Java. Even a team of Institut Teknologi Telkom managed to become champion between work of "Isara"

Four awards achieved by the winner for the category of IT e-inclution by Telkom to the work of "Isara", merit award for the category of student projects obtained tertiery IT Telkom with the work of "Sparkins", merit award for the category obtained tertiery student project teams Institute of Technology Bandung with the work of "Virtual Pet", and last junior team who won the Diamond Gems Surabaya merit award in the category of secondary student project.

The most valuable pride is that Telkom's IT team between work "Isara" won nearly perfect value when the judging process. The work "Isara" who managed to become champion is a free sign language dictionary for the deaf. This program was created by four students namely IT Telkom Rizky Ario Nugroho, Asendia Mayco, Ahmad Supreme Ahkam, and Muhammad Taufik Ismail.

"Alhamdulillah, we managed. It is not yet believe. Especially in the arena of Indonesia ICT Award we have not actually won the award because there are rudimentary. But here all we fix, thanks to training and coaching that we continue to follow, eventually succeeded," said Rizky after accepting the award on the eve of the announcement and the Gala Dinner at the Ballroom of the Dusit Thani Hotel Pattaya. 2 IT Team Ready to Compete at Telkom APICTA 2011

Both Team Telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom), Sparkins and Isara, ready to compete in international competitions Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA) held on 8 to 11 November 2011. The competition will take place at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Pattaya, Thailand. The second contingent from IT Telkom Indonesia to fly to Thailand today, Monday (7 / 11). Rector of IT Telkom, Ir. Tri Hanuranto Ahmad, MT release the team three days before departure, Friday (4 / 11), in building D campus IT Telkom.

At Indonesia ICT evening  Award (INAICTA) 2011 at the Jakarta Convention Center Sparkins IT Telkom team managed to get out as The Winner INAICTA Award 2011 for the category of college-level applications. With this achievement, the IT team to be representative of Indonesia Telkom for competition obeying APICTA 2011. Applications Sparkins a touch-based applications for learning typewriter Perkins for children with visual impairment. The application is a solution to read and write for the blind on a tablet computer. These applications use the system Chording Perkins Braille. With this application Telkom's IT team will represent Indonesia to compete Tertiary Student Project category at the APICTA 2011.

The Biomedical Engineer Are Needed

The need for health services. That is the reason why the technology in the medical field more broadly applicable.Own needs for itself are continue to increase. Biomedical technology has been applied in developed countries since the 60's. But in Indonesia, is relatively new biomedical technologies. Therefore, the Biomedical Engineer increasingly needed.

Dyah Ekashanti Octorina Dewi, PhD is an alumni of  Telkom Informatics year 1996 (now, Institute of Technology Telkom) which is deal with the field of Biomedical Technology. After graduating in STT Telkom, Dyah deepen knowledge of biomedical technology in Biomedical Engineering program Graduate Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) and Ti Gronigen Rijk Universiteit in the Netherlands.

There's a reason why the Biomedical Engineering is increasingly needed as disclosed in the Public Lecture Dyah Graduate IT Telkom, Friday (28/10), in Room Multimedia Learning Centre IT Telkom,

"Increased focus on health issues and aging of human populations in the world. So there is hope of better medical equipment and sophisticated technology invented by biomedical experts",

Clearly, the medical needs of biological imaging technology to detect diseases or abnormalities in the human body. Apparently the involvement of technology to the medical world has existed since ancient times, even thousands of years ago. In the history of ancient Greece, Hippocrates is known as the father figure in the field of medicine, has succeeded in providing input in the field of orthopedic thinking and introduce a blend of mechanical methods in the medical world. Furthermore, Ibnu Sina is known as one of the world that introduces the synergy of medical and engineer.

"There is no science that stands alone. The synergy between engineering, biology and medical benefits for many people and contribute to the scholarship," said Dyah.

For anyone who is interested in the field of Biomedical Engineering, Dyah convinced that the field is increasingly promising. she also gives some tips,

On September 19, 2011, Chairman of the YPT Johni Girsang with Director of  The Center for Professional Development of YPT Yahya Arwiyah and Director of Bandung Techo Park (BTP) Jangkung Raharjo conduct meetings with Directors and Officers in PTPN I Aceh  which is held at the Main Meeting Room of the Central Office PTPN I Langsa Aceh Indonesia . On that occasion, the Board of Directors PTPN I Langsa which is represented HR Director, Ir. H. Siswadi and Production Director, Ir. Ismail, MM said that the participants who attended the ceremony were Managers and Assistant Managers, and  it has been notified about the cooperation between  YPT and  PTPN I, then also elaborated on the new admissions programs to efforts the increasing  the utilization of ICT in PTPN I. YPT Chairman said that the YPT open the opportunity for families of employees and employee PTPN I to pursue education through partnerships. In addition, the PTPN I provide the opportunity for students and lecturers at the YPT Group for internships and conduct research in PTPN I Langsa.

Furthermore, also presented briefly describe some results of research that can be used by PTPN I Langsa. She won the third place "National Outstanding Student Elections 2011 Polytechnic Diploma Program". this program held by the General Directorate of Higher Education Officer at Menara Peninsula Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday-Thursday on 14 to 18 August 2011.

Fatma said "The competition begins with the selection at each campus after the selection was being held at Coordinator of Private Higher Education level. The Recommendation of each coordinator sent to the National committe for the selection file of the initial stages. After that, selected 10 finalists who must follow the Final stage in Jakarta ". Competition in the selection of outstanding students not only with one or two colleges for Polytechnic Diploma Program from the  Coordinator of Private Higher Education level. Fatma hopes all students, both in the Telkom Polytechnic and the entire Indonesia, always trying to achieve. "Not to be viewed by others, but as a form of worship to God. Before departure on Wednesday, jully 6,2011, Tim Gatotkaca visiting Telkom Education Foundation (YPT) for asking support and prayers from the Chairman of the YPT.

During the meeting, the Chairman of YPT congratulated and  proud of the extraordinary opportunities from the Gatotkaca IT team because they represent Indonesia to compete at this event  and hope they win the Imagine Cup 2011. IT Telkom- on this Monday (4/7) Telkom Institute of Technology (Telkom IT) receive assessment visits from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN PT). The assessment process for bachelor degree of Computer Systems held in Meeting Room 2nd floor of Building D IT Telkom, while the assessment of bachelor degree of Electronic Engineering  take place on the second floor of building C IT Telkom.

Between the discussion of the course accreditation forms with the assessors, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Communication, Achmad Ali Muayyadi, Ir., MSc., PhD, delivered his presentation related to the faculty of Electrical and Communication strategy in improving the quality of the learning process in IT Telkom.

in the strategic program period 2009-2013 reveal that the strategy formulated in the form of policy that rests on the transformation of the organization, quality of transformations and transformation of knowledge. Among that strategy is to build learning centers building and laboratory, curriculum development and academic services, the establishment of Bandung Techno Park, the development of quality assurance systems, also, make efforts to increase teacher qualifications and competence. As well as working to increase external research grant programs and research collaborations.

Telkom IM - Visual Communications Design Studies program Telkom Institute of Management (IM Telkom Prodi DKV) exhibit featuring 500 works by students of photography, animation, and other shapes on the ground floor, first floor and second floor at IM Telkom Dayeuhkolot, for two weeks in the IM Telkom Dayeuhkolot campus,  Saturday  (11-25/6).

Works by students DKV IM Telkom is the last series of Fin art 2011 fair series that previously enlivened bazaar, murals, various film seminars, and the final event is Exhibition of Work IM Telkom results of the students at end of semester.

According to Chairman of Telkom IM DKV, Siska Noviaristanti, S. Si, MT. This  exhibition aims to increase the confidence of students from their own works  and to be enjoyed by the public . I hope this exhibition can foster self-confidence of students, that their work not only enjoyed by himself and lecturers, but also others and will certainly force them to showcase the work maximally.

Another aim to demonstrate the existence DKV studies program itself, because  DKV is the new studies program in Telkom IM. As well as material evaluation of the lecturers on how much students' ability to absorb the material in class lectures  and realized it  in the form of their work.

Students of  IT Telkom won Scholarships

IT-Telkom - On Wednesday (06/15/2011), 135 Student Telkom Institute of Technology (IT) received a scholarship. The scholarship enrollment took place at Room Multimedia Learning Center. Scholarships awarded by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Higher Education), Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) 46 and Hewlett Packard (HP).

The rector of IT Telkom, Ir. Ahmad Tri Hanuranto, MT  will be the one to give the Dikti academic progress symbolically to 28 students, each of 2.1 million. Rector IT Telkom also awarded scholarships Student Learning Assistance-Higher Education to 62 students of 2.1 million per student.

Furthermore, scholarship Environment Development Bank BNI 46 is given symbolically by the head  of BNI 46 branches Perintis Kemerdekaan, Bambang Suharto, the 25 students, $ 1 million per student. While scholarship HP submitted by Manager Harrisma Informatics Jaya, Ir. Dede Faith Gustaman, MM, to 20 students at 1 million per student.

Congratulations to student IT Telkom for receiving a scholarship by the Higher Education, BNI 46 and HP. hopefully can enhance the learning activities in the IT Telkom.

Imagine cup-  Telkom IT team represented Indonesia at the Imagine Cup 2011 world stage with the finalists consisting of 124 student teams from 73 countries and regions, all of which will in depart to New York City for the Worldwide Finals 8 to 13 July 2011.

Imagine Cup held nine contested categories namely, Software Design, Game Design: Windows / Xbox (XNA), Game Design: Mobile (Zune / Phone), Game Design: Web (Silverlight), Embedded Development, IT Challenge, Digital Media, Interoperability Challenge, Challenge Orchard, and Windows 7 Phone. Telkom's IT team that successfully became a finalist is Tim Gatotkaca (Software Design) and Dreambender (Windows 7 Touch).

In this Imagine Cup competition, Telkom IT team following the two categories, that  is Windows 7 Phone and Software Design. Windows 7 Touch is a technology that allows people to use their computers in a more accessible and interactive experience. Telkom's IT team has managed to become champion 2 Windows 7 Touch in an online session and get a prize money of $ 4,000. Gatotkaca team with their project will be flown to New York for the Software Design competition on the world stage 8 to 13 July 2011.

Congratulations to student IT Telkom on his victory and continue to work and innovate to become the pride of children of Indonesia who are intelligent, innovative and creative in the field of Information Technology.

In this event, students STISI Telkom won the Annual Award Event Carnival Night Ivory Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival (JFFF) 2011, for all award categories as well as the group held on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

The first prize won by student of 2008  Craft Textile Fashion (KTM) with the theme of The Exoticism of Papua. Second place won by students of 2007 KTM with the theme Borneo. Third place won by student of 2009 KTM , with their Shocking Color of Birds.

Yogyakarta, Kompas.com – Indonesian Intelligent Robot Contest, Indonesia Robot Contest Art at the University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta, 11-12 June 2011 has ended. A number of robots comes as the winner, Tim Hamazar from Institute of Technology (IT) Telkom managed took the first place in the category of Intelligent wheeled Robot Contest Indonesia (KRCI) with the theme Fire Extinguisher robot. In the category of Arts Indonesian Robot Contest (KRSI) with the themed The  Dancer Robot, Klono Topeng Satrio 177 team (IT Telkom Bandung) won the second place. The competition take two days long and followed by 101 teams from 51 public and private universities throughout Indonesia.

Training is divided into six (6) batch. and have been carried out by three (3) batch (I, II, II) which is begin within first batch on Monday-Tuesday (6-7 June 2011) and then proceed to second batch on Thursday-Friday (9-10 June 2011). This week on Monday-Tuesday (13-14 June 2011) attended by  the third batch participants  and continue with the fourth batch on  Thursday-Friday (16 to 17 June 2011). training will be held until the end of June 2011 was held at the House Learning Center PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk, Jl. Downstream No. Gegerkalong. 47, Bandung. With the front liner instructure from PT Telkom.

From this training, the Chairman of YPT hope that front liner can improve the services to internal and external customer so that the

quality from the expectations of all parties can be achieved.

In between the coffee morning meeting of the management of Telkom Education Foundation (YPT) on Monday (6/13/2011), Chairman of the YPT witnessed the handover of the position  of Senior Manager of Field Support Management (SM Dukman) YPT. Positions that were previously led by Mr. Eddy Budiono, Drs., handed over to Ms. MM. Wiwin Aminah, SE.Akt., MM. Based on the decision of the chairman of the YPT, Mr. Eddy Budiono will work as Director of Operations at PT. CSM on  June 13, 2011.,

On the same occasion, the chairman also gave SK YPT. No. KEP.149/SDM-05/YPT/2011 of Dismissal With Respect For permanent employee of the Foundation in the name of Mr.. EMPI Taryana for  his retirement. YPT Chairman expressed his thanks to Br. EMPI Taryana of dedication and cooperation during his time in YPT.

Bandung Techno Park (BTP), which since its establishment declared as academics partner, government and industry. continued to develop the research and cooperation with industry and government also try to help to solve problems of national ICT. This was proven recently by the research funding from the Ministry for Research and Technology, BTP create real solutions for bus companies services  problems trough technology touch. The Flash Bus Ticketing System (abbreviated flash-T) developed by a team of BTP became the real example of successful synergy of academia, industry and government in the development of appropriate advanced technology, which will directly touch and change the behavior in the world of transportation into a better direction.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011 the development team of bus ticket machines of BTP do the debut test  on the bus Sumber Alam, Kutoarjo. In these trials the machine is functioning optimally. At the trial event, present the representatives of PO Sumber Alam, representatives from the Ministry of Research and Technology / BTC that gives praise to Jangkung Rahardjo, Iwan Iwut, Agus Reza and Budi Praptono who managed to make machine according to the specifications and is always open to input from the field and flexible to the changes occur during the design process.

With so many requests from people to the implementation of the Computer Based Test (CBT) is not only done in Bandung (Telkom Polytechnic Campus, Campus STISI Telkom and Telkom PDC) then SMBB Telkom try to improve the services by providing wider opportunities to the society, so the society able to select the nearest CBT location.CBT is a test using a computer that is held every weekday. The announcement of the test can be directly obtained after the participants finished the exam.

There are five additional locations that will serve the implementation of the CBT participants SMBB Telkom in 2011, starting June 8, 2011 to July 28, 2011.

Along with government programs (the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and National development planning agency) about Economic Corridor with 18 sectors including Telematics Sector. Bandung Techno Park represented with Jangkung Raharjo, Iwan Budi Praptono Iwut Tritoasmoro and actively involved in the discussion of the Corridor Economic Corridor, especially for Java.

Ministry of Industry through the Director of Industrial Electronics and Telematics (Mr. Sharif Hidayat) launched a program implementation Telematica Industrial in java  is divided into 2 corridor, that is  Telematics Industry -1 Corridor Bandung-Jakarta and Telematics Industry Corridor 2 Solo, Salatiga-Ghost, which begins with meetings the Ministry of Industry on January 20, 2011 and appoint Jangkung Raharjo from Bandung Techno Park Industrial Corridor as Chairman of Telematics-1 Bandung-Jakarta.

As the first step of the formation of  Telematics Industry Corridor Bandung-Jakarta. one meeting was held between the Ministry of Industry, which was attended by the Director of Industrial Electronics and Telematics (Mr. Sharif Hidayat) and his staff as well as several educational institutions and businesses on March 4, 2011 in Bandung Techno Park in order to capture input related to the preparation of the roadmap corridor telematics industry I. This immediately followed up by Jangkung Raharjo and  his tim, by studying Roadmap / Strategic Plan of the Ministry, the Ministry include: Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs, National development planning agency, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of personal communication and Information, Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Research and Technology and National Research Council, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance, National Innovation Committee, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry) related to the development of Telematics as a first step in the preparation of the Roadmap Corridor. It is expected the draft roadmap will be completed in May 2011 for submission to the Ministry of Industry.
